Pathogen - organeb sy'n achosi clefyd mewn planhigion e.e. ffyngau, dyfrbriddoedd, bacteria, feirysau, mycoplasma. Defnyddir yr enw Lladin ar yr organeb fel arfer.

Clefyd - y casgliad o symptomau a achosir gan bathogen. Fel arfer rhoddir enw cyffredin ar y clefyd sy'n disgrifio'r clefyd.

Anhwylder - problem mewn planhigion a achosir gan aflonyddwch ffisiolegol e.e. difrod gan rew, diffyg maetholion, straen dŵr.
