Important Information:

Expressions of Interest (EoI) and claims for the Farm Business Grant (FBG) are submitted through RPW Online. You are able to submit EoIs in multiple windows with a minimum £3,000 threshold per application. The maximum overall grant threshold is £12,000.

The grant provides a maximum 40% contribution towards capital investments in equipment and machinery, which have been pre-identified as offering clear and quantifiable benefits to farm enterprises.

To claim the FBG payment, you must submit:

  • a FBG claim through RPW online, using the Capital Works Claim page
  • invoices for all claimed items
  • an accountant’s letter confirming business turnover of £1m or less

If you are not yet registered with RPW Online, please refer to the Welsh Government website for the ‘how to register’ guidance or call the Customer Contact Centre on 0300 062 5004.

If you have not already done so, you must register your business with Farming Connect in advance of applying for Farm Business Grant (FBG).

Equipment available is generally for larger scale arable farming. Lobbying continues to encourage WG to include horticultural equipment in this grant fund.

Glastir Small Grants is a Capital Works grant scheme available to land managers and farming businesses across Wales. An existing Glastir contract is not necessary to be eligible. Capital Works available are chosen for their broad and general environmental benefits and their ability to deliver to the Welsh Government’s ambitions for climate change and water management. Glastir Small Grants is a standalone scheme providing a maximum of £7,500 funding per theme for Capital Works Projects. Set lists of Capital Works are available per theme to support the delivery of beneficial environmental outcomes. Scheme aims:

  • Reducing Carbon and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Adapting to climate change and building greater resilience into farm and forest businesses.
  • Managing our water resources to improve water quality and reduce flood risks.
  • Protecting the landscape and the historic environment while improving access.
  • Contributing towards a reversal in the decline of Wales’ native biodiversity.

Main focus is on improving water use and biodiversity.
