Tyfu Cymru delivers industry specific support and training to build the capacity and capability of the Welsh horticulture sector. We work with supply chain partners to prepare growers and producer owned horticulture companies to adapt to environmental and economic challenges, and help position businesses to capitalise on market opportunities for development and growth.
Tyfu Cymru is able to support the majority of commercial businesses in the Welsh horticulture sector; both edible and ornamental, from small to large scale, organic, non-organic and start up initiatives to well established businesses.
All training and support is 100% fully funded by Tyfu Cymru
To be eligible for support you must be a registered (or soon to be registered) commercial horticulture business and based in Wales. If you meet these requirements, once you have completed a Business Review you can access the full range of support from the project.

Since March 2020 we have been able to deliver many our workshops and events online. We are continuing to follow the Government guidelines in regard to Covid-19 and will give further details on in-person events as regulations change.
We work alongside our expert training providers to create toolkits and resources which are accessible to you on the Tyfu Cymru Knowledge Hub. This is also where you can find recordings of webinars from past events. The Knowledge Hub focuses on 12 key areas including soil and land classification, new tech and techniques, and future proofing.
We currently have eight specialist networks for growers wanting support in specific horticultural areas. These are managed by industry experts and include squash and pumpkin, top fruit, soft fruit, vegetable, seeds, ornamental, Christmas tree and Welsh flowers. Each network adapts to the requirements of its members and utilises platforms such as Whatsapp and Facebook for both expert and peer to peer knowledge exchange.
We have experts and advisors on hand to deliver tailor made support for businesses that require it. This could be anything from support to set up an online shop, to looking to diversify into soft fruit production. Support can be delivered online, over the phone or in person depending on the need.
