Neville Stein

Neville Stein, 61 trades as ‘Neville Stein Horticultural Business Consultant’. Primarily working in the ‘land based’ sector. Neville has become recognized as an expert business consultant amongst SMEs and family enterprises and has worked with a wide range of organisations both in the UK and internationally including Ireland, Israel, Eastern Europe and China.

Beginning his career in the UK nursery industry in 1977 Neville completed a Diploma in Nursery Practices at Pershore College of Horticulture, UK. After leaving college he had a variety of positions in the nursery stock industry before becoming a sales manager for Notcutts Nurseries who were, at the time of Neville’s employment, the UK’s largest plant production nursery.

Neville left employment in 1995 to establish a unique and specialist business consultancy practice working with nurseries, garden centres and landscapers. Whilst establishing this business he also graduated with an MBA.

Today, Neville is still operating full time in the sector and his clients have included, Bord Bia (the Irish Food Board), The National Trust, DAERA (in Northern Ireland), the HTA, the APL and of course many privately owned nurseries, garden centres and landscape operations. Neville also spends time educating the horticultural managers of the future and his educational portfolio includes assessing on the prestigious master of Horticulture for the Royal Horticultural Society, The Kew Diploma, Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
