Are you looking for a Horticultural opportunity? - Consider Foliage growing. Join Tyfu Cymru for a study visit to Hardy Eucalytpus, Grafton Nursery. The visit will be tailored to growers and farmers interested in learning more about Cut Foliage Eucalyptus.
A multi-award-winning family owned and run nursery set in the heart of rural Worcestershire. They specialise in, research and grow 65+ different species of Eucalyptus trees, over 30 of which are sufficiently hardy to grow in most parts of the UK, 20+ species which are happy on the south and west coasts and milder locations, as well as a few are non-hardy species.
Their seed is carefully sourced from known provenances in the coldest parts of the antipodes. All the young stock is air-root-pruned from the beginning and mature trees are grown in the Australian-invented Air-pot container system. This means that the trees have a vibrant, radial root system leading to a safe and stable tree.
We will also touch on the use of Eucalyptus in a silvo-pasture system and its benefits to help drain swampy unusable marginal land. Also growing Eucalyptus as a crop for firewood for logs, timber or biomass.
