Tyfu Cymru – What have we achieved in 2018 and looking forward in to 2019
Doesn’t time fly? It’s now been 6 months since we announced the launch of phase 2 of Tyfu Cymru. But what have we achieved?
In a nutshell we have: worked with key ornamental growers who are now engaged with the project and receiving tailored training packages for their businesses, provided tailored trained to 30 Welsh horticulture businesses, launched the Tyfu Cymru Fruit Network, delivered workshops, produced industry insights on a range of topics (take a look here) and have engaged growers across Wales to deliver training in line with our objective to build the capacity in the sector.
We are looking forward to continuing our work in 2019, and to develop and tailor our services according to the needs of the industry. Already in 2019 we have plans in place to hold a procurement workshop in January (see events section), to develop the agronomy advice framework, to launch our Horticulture talent pool, to expand on the knowledge zone and industry insights and to provide further practical, tailored training to commercial Welsh growers, so please get in touch if you are reviewing your training and skills needs as Tyfu Cymru may be able to help.
In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and wish you a Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2019.
