Yn debyg i Ddydd Gwener Du a Dydd Llun Seibr, mae yna nifer o arferion sy’n croesi’r Iwerydd ac yn ymgorffori eu hunain yng nghalendr pobl Prydain.  Mae Calan Gaeaf yn un, sy’n fwy poblogaidd na Diwrnod San Ffolant erbyn hyn, a’r trydydd digwyddiad mwyaf ar ôl y Nadolig a’r Pasg, ac mae’r tuedd Clytiau Pwmpen (‘Pumpkin Patch’) yn ennill tir yma hefyd.

Ond beth y mae angen i Dyfwyr sy’n rhedeg ffermydd Pigo Eich Hun ei wybod? Yn ein cyfres o wybodaeth am y diwydiant, rydym yn darparu rhywfaint o gefndir i’r farchnad, yn ogystal â rhai awgrymiadau da ar sicrhau bod eich profiad cwsmeriaid yn sicrhau’r sgôr pum seren bwysig ymhlith cwsmeriaid.

Beth sy’n llywio galw defnyddwyr?  Er bod ffermydd traddodiadol Pigo Eich Hun yn ystod misoedd yr haf wedi bod yn sefydledig am gyfnod hwy, mae’r profiad Clytiau Pwmpen yn duedd cymharol newydd yn y DU.  Datblygodd poblogrwydd ffermydd Pigo Eich Hun yn y 70au, gyda theuluoedd yn chwilio am ffyrdd i dreulio amser gyda’i gilydd, daeth Pigo Eich Hun yn ffordd o dreulio diwrnod allan, yn pigo a bwyta ffrwythau a llysiau ffres.  Parhaodd poblogrwydd Pigo Eich Hun i’r 80au, nes i dwf yr archfarchnadoedd newid y ffordd yr oeddem yn siopa am ffrwythau a llysiau ffres.

Ond wrth i ddefnyddwyr ddod yn fwy ymwybodol o faterion cynaliadwyedd ac effaith eu dewisiadau siopa ar yr amgylchedd, mae galw cynyddol ymhlith defnyddwyr am dryloywder y gadwyn gyflenwi, lleihau milltiroedd bwyd a bwyd lleol, ffres.  Ni allwch gael ffrwythau a llysiau mwy ffres na phigo rhai eich hun yn uniongyrchol o’r fferm ei hun!

Mae twf llwyfannau rhannu’r cyfryngau cymdeithasol, er enghraifft Instragram, hefyd wedi cyfrannu, gan roi cyfrwng pellach i’r tueddiadau hyn.  Mae llawer ohonom yn awyddus i dderbyn gwybodaeth am y profiadau diweddaraf, ac nid ydym yn hoffi colli allan.  Gyda nifer o enwogion a dylanwadwyr y cyfryngau cymdeithasol yn pennu’r safon, mae eu dilynwyr brwd yn dyheu i ddyblygu eu profiadau a’u ffotograffau hwy, sydd wedi arwain at fewnlifiad o ffotograffau o fabanod yn ymweld â chlytiau pwmpen yn ystod cyfnod Calan Gaeaf (Gweler yma)!

Fwy nac erioed o’r blaen, mae llawer ohonom yn chwilio am brofiadau newydd.  Mae ffigurau yn dangos ein bod yn parhau i wario llai o arian ar brynu pethau, a mwy ar wneud pethau - a sôn am hynny wrth y byd ar-lein wedyn, wrth gwrs.  Mae’r farchnad ‘lletygarwch arbrofol’ yn tyfu, ac mae ymchwil wedi dangos bod cwsmeriaid yn barod i dalu mwy pan fyddant yn teimlo eu bod wedi bod yn rhan o brofiad ac wedi ‘cael mwy na dim ond pryd’.  Mae gweithredwyr wedi gwella eu harlwy lletygarwch arbrofol yn y blynyddoedd diweddar, o ganlyniad i gydnabyddiaeth gynyddol ei bod yn bwysig dylunio profiad yn strategol.

Mae ffyrdd newydd a chyffrous o fwyta yn cynyddu - dychmygwch fwyta wrth hongian oddi ar graen!
Rydym hefyd eisiau profi a deall sut y mae’r bwyd a’r ddiod yr ydym yn ei fwyta wedi’i gynhyrchu, gyda phoblogrwydd gweithgareddau fel teithiau gwin, a theithiau bragdy a theithiau cynhyrchu bwyd yn cynyddu.  Ac wrth gwrs, rydym hefyd yn hoffi rhannu ein profiadau drwy bostiadau a delweddau gyda’n teuluoedd a’n ffrindiau, fel y mae’r mantra yn dweud yn awr.....’Ffotograffau neu ni wnaeth ddigwydd’.

Rheoli Menter Pigo Eich Hun
Gall busnes pigo eich hun (PYO) fod yn ffordd wych o wella proffidioldeb eich daliadau.  Drwy ddenu cwsmeriaid i’ch safle, gallwch werthu iddynt yn uniongyrchol, gan sicrhau proffidioldeb uchaf eich cynnyrch ffres.

Yn draddodiadol, mae PYO wedi canolbwyntio ar ffrwythau, ac yn arbennig ffrwythau meddal, ond mae galw cynyddol wedi bod gan gwsmeriaid am bwmpenni yn agos at Galan Gaeaf.  Mae rhai daliadau amrywiol yn tyfu mathau eraill o gnydau PYO ond maent yn debygol o fod yn atyniad ar raddfa fach (e.e. corn melys, ffa llydain) neu mae angen dull tyfu a marchnata arbenigol (e.e. coed Nadolig).  Er bod y daflen ffeithiau hon yn canolbwyntio ar fentrau PYO ffrwythau meddal a phwmpenni, bydd llawer o’r themâu sy’n cael eu trafod yma yn berthnasol i unrhyw fusnes PYO.

Gallwch gynnig profiadau hamdden yn yr awyr agored, rhoi profiad o arddwriaeth a ffermio i’ch cwsmeriaid a diwrnod allan cost effeithlon i deuluoedd.
Efallai y byddwch hefyd yn marchnata cynnyrch am brisiau uwch na phrisiau archfarchnadoedd (yn arbennig ar gyfer pwmpenni) felly mae angen i chi ystyried eich hun fel profiad ac nid dim ond cynnyrch – rydych yn cystadlu gydag atyniadau fel Alton Towers yn hytrach na’r archfarchnadoedd!  Isod mae rhai meysydd allweddol y dylech feddwl amdanynt wrth gynllunio eich menter PYO ond dylech gofio bod angen i chi feddwl bob amser am y profiad y bydd eich cwsmeriaid yn ei gael pan fyddant yn ymweld â’ch menter PYO.

Ar gyfer y rhai hynny ohonoch sy’n ystyried, neu sydd wrthi’n sefydlu menter PYO, mae’n bleser gennym rannu’r daflen ffeithiau gyntaf mewn cyfres i’ch helpu i sefydlu eich hun!
